Treehouse Stays

Where Adventure Meets the Canopy

There is something fundamentally thrilling about sleeping in a tree. Not the metaphor, not the Instagram version -- the actual experience of climbing wooden stairs that wrap around a living trunk, stepping onto a platform that sways almost imperceptibly in the wind, and lying down in a bed suspended between sky and earth. It rewires something in your brain that concrete floors and plaster ceilings have slowly dulled. Our treehouse stays are scattered across India's most biodiverse forests -- from the coffee estates of Coorg where you wake to hornbill calls, to the misty canopy of Wayanad where elephants pass below at dawn. These aren't rustic platforms with a tarp. They are architect-designed retreats with proper beds, attached bathrooms, and private decks where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the forest come alive at eye level. The magic of a treehouse isn't just the elevation. It's the intimacy with the canopy -- the layer of the forest that most people never experience. Spider webs catch morning dew like diamond necklaces. Squirrels leap between branches close enough to touch. Night brings a symphony of insects and owls that is so layered and constant it becomes a kind of silence. For couples, it's inherently romantic. For families with older children, it's pure adventure. For anyone who has spent too long in cities breathing recycled air and staring at screens, a treehouse stay is the reset button you didn't know you needed.

Unique Experiences

Canopy Breakfast

Start your day with a basket of fresh fruits, local bread, and hot coffee delivered to your treehouse deck while the forest wakes up around you. No buffet line, no rush -- just you and the birds.

Night Safari from the Canopy

After dark, the forest transforms. With a trained naturalist and a red-filtered torch, spot nocturnal creatures from your elevated vantage point -- flying squirrels gliding between trees, owls hunting silently, and the occasional civet cat.

Plantation Walk & Coffee Tasting

Many of our treehouses sit within working coffee or spice estates. Walk the plantation with the estate manager, learn the cultivation process, and taste varieties you will never find in a city cafe.

Stargazing Sessions

At canopy height, away from light pollution, the night sky reveals itself in full. Some properties offer telescopes and guided stargazing sessions that map constellations and track planets.

Forest Yoga & Meditation

Morning yoga on a suspended wooden platform, breathing air filtered through a thousand trees. The forest provides the soundtrack -- no playlist required.

Things to Know

Treehouses involve climbing stairs, sometimes steep ones. They are not suitable for guests with mobility limitations or very young children.

Insects are part of the experience. Treehouses have screens and netting, but the occasional visitor is inevitable in a forest.

Wi-Fi is limited or absent at most treehouse properties. Plan your digital detox accordingly.

Pack layers -- forest temperatures can drop significantly at night, especially at elevation.

Carry a good flashlight or headlamp. The walk from dinner to your treehouse after dark is part of the adventure.

Book well in advance for weekends and holidays. Most treehouse properties have only 3-8 units.
