The Land of Smiles and Endless Discovery

5-7 Days
International
November to February for cooler, dry weather across most of the country (25-32 C)

Thailand has been welcoming travelers for so long that hospitality is coded into its DNA. From the ornate spires of Bangkok's Grand Palace to the limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay, from the night markets of Chiang Mai to the full moon parties of Koh Phangan, this country serves up experiences as varied as its legendary street food. Bangkok alone could occupy a week. It's a city where ancient temples exist next to state-of-the-art shopping malls, where monks collect alms at dawn on the same streets that host the world's most chaotic nightlife by midnight. The Chao Phraya River stitches it all together -- temples on one bank, towers on the other, and longtail boats weaving between them with the casual skill of two centuries of practice. The islands are why Thailand appears on every beach lover's list. Phuket offers everything from resort luxury to cliffside beach bars. Koh Samui wraps coconut groves around a ring road of waterfalls and viewpoints. Koh Lanta stays quiet enough that the loudest sound is the tide changing. And the Phi Phi Islands -- despite the crowds -- still deliver water so turquoise it looks digitally enhanced. Up north, Chiang Mai trades beaches for mountains, street food for cooking classes, and party vibes for temple contemplation. The old city's 30+ temples sit within a moat-surrounded square mile, the Sunday night market stretches for over a kilometer, and the surrounding hills hold elephant sanctuaries, hill tribe villages, and waterfalls that few tourists reach.

Your Journey

A carefully crafted itinerary to help you experience the best of Thailand

1

Day 1: Bangkok -- Temples & Street Food

Bangkok hits you with all senses at once. Golden temples, tuk-tuk chaos, the smell of pad thai from a street cart, and the warm chaos of a city that never quite decided between ancient and modern.

Afternoon visit to the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha)
Explore Wat Pho -- home to the 46-meter reclining Buddha and traditional Thai massage school
Evening street food tour in Chinatown (Yaowarat Road) -- try pad thai, mango sticky rice, and boat noodles
Night tuk-tuk ride through illuminated Bangkok streets

Day 2: Markets, Canals & Culture

Beyond the temples, Bangkok reveals its softer side -- floating markets, peaceful canals, and rooftop bars that put the skyline at your feet.

Trade the urban energy for island time. The flight from Bangkok to Phuket or Koh Samui takes about an hour, but the shift in pace is measured in heartbeats.

Afternoon at the beach -- swim, snorkel, or simply read under a palm tree
Sunset at Promthep Cape (Phuket) or Big Buddha viewpoint
Dinner at a beachside seafood restaurant -- fresh catch grilled over coconut husks

Today belongs to the Andaman Sea (or Gulf of Thailand). Island hopping reveals a different paradise at every stop -- limestone caves, snorkeling with tropical fish, and beaches accessible only by boat.

Visit Maya Bay (Phi Phi Islands) or Ang Thong Marine Park
Beach lunch on a secluded island

Things to Know

Thailand uses the Thai Baht (THB). ATMs are widespread but charge a 220 THB fee for foreign cards.

The Thai monarchy is deeply revered. Never disrespect images of the King -- it is a serious criminal offense.

Dress modestly at temples -- cover shoulders and knees. Shoes must be removed before entering temple buildings.

Thai street food is generally safe and incredibly cheap (40-100 THB per dish). Follow the locals for the best stalls.

Tuk-tuk drivers in Bangkok often suggest "gem shops" or "suit shops" -- politely decline, these are tourist traps.

The wai (prayer-like greeting) is the standard Thai greeting. Return it when greeted, but don't initiate it with service staff.
